Word of mouth is the number one influence on the decision to buy a car…Social media democratizes providing word of mouth to a much broader audience.
-Fritz Henderson, CEO, General Motors

The above photo is of my car (2001 IS300) that my wife and I purchased a little over a year and a half ago. Before the opportunity to buy this car came by us, we was trying to decide between a 2001 Acura CL and 2000 Acura TL.

When getting feedback from some of my friends, they told me that model of Acura cars had transmission issues that would require replacement. Something that steered my decision away from that chose.

Studies have shown that people trust the words of their peers at least six times more than they would the words of an advertisement.

When you’re trying to get the word out about a project or even a video you’ve made, engage people who have a voice on social platforms. This includes people who are active on Twitter, Facebook and Blogs.

Approach them not as a someone selling something. Rather, as something who wants to engage them in conversation and receive feedback. Everyone has an opinion to share. Ask for it.
